The WSE-DC series of stepper drives work on the bipolar current switching principle and are suitable for controlling 4-phase stepping motors with 0.5 to 8A phase current.

 

The units can be supplied with a panel or rail mount fitting and are extremely compact, measuring just 105 x 57.5 x 116mm, and will fit into 200mm control cabinets.

 

 

It is perfectly suited to upgrades and retrofits as it can be used when existing motors are being retained.

 

Its inbuilt flexibility enables it to replace old equipment operating on 20 to 80V DC with current ratings of up to 8A.

 

The unit is a micro-stepping drive with 16 different step angles from 200 to 12,800 steps per revolution. The step angle can be switched between two user-selectable values whilst the motor is running which allows very smooth operation at low speed and fast traverse speeds.

 

The high efficiency of the WSE-DC allows operation without external cooling and is therefore suited to applications where forced cooling is undesirable or impractical. Power connections can be made via front side screw terminals with all signal connections made via spring terminals.
