A new range of servo, worm gearboxes with three alternative precision levels has been launched by Motor Technology.

Manufactured by Girard Transmissions, the new Dynabox range can be specified as either Basic, Medium or Expert units with ten, five and one arc minutes of backlash respectively.

The degree of backlash on the Expert unit is easily adjustable but is fixed with the Basic and Medium options.

The gearboxes have three mounting options: hollow shaft, dual output shaft or single output shaft, and are supplied with a servo-motor mounting flange and a choice of backlash free couplings. They are said to have a space-saving design, are quiet running and maintenance free.

Gearbox ratios are up to 90:1 with continuous output torque to over 800Nm and peak torque up to 2289Nm. Typical applications will include: machine tools, rotary tables, industrial robots, pick-and-place systems, tracking systems and semiconductor manufacturing.
